About Eric
A whole life shared with animals
I've been an animal lover and pet owner my whole life. I've had all kinds of animals over the years.
Turtles, fish, birds, parakeets, even a chicken, bunnies, a cat, and dogs.
I have a real soft spot for rescue animals and have experienced firsthand how good care, patience, and love can help a rescue animal heal and become part of a family. Friends have also trusted me to look after and care for their pets, which is something I've always been happy to do.
I'm interested in supporting clients through pet loss because I know how much our animals become part of our families and our lives. Losing a pet can bring a tremendous amount of grief, but that grief is often minimized or misunderstood by some people.
I'd like to provide a space where people can talk openly about their loss, remember and honor their relationship with their pet, and feel supported as they grieve in their own way and at their own pace.

Working With Eric
What this space is for
Pet loss is real grief, and it deserves the same care as any other loss. Eric brings the same steadiness here that guides his work at Steady Compass Counseling Services: meeting people where they are, and moving at a pace that feels right for them.
-
Talking openly about the loss
You can say what happened and what life has been like since, without having to explain or defend why it hurts this much. Nothing here will be minimized.
-
Remembering and honoring the relationship
Your pet had a name, a personality, and a place in your home. There is room for the stories, the photos, the routines that are now missing, and everything your companion meant to you.
-
Grieving in your own way, at your own pace
There is no timeline to meet and no right way to do this. Whether the loss is recent or years old, support is shaped around what you need.
