I’m a registered lead volunteer with Pet Partners, proudly serving in multiple roles. Alongside my therapy animals, Grogu and Ruby—who also support clients in my practice—I conduct therapy animal team evaluations, facilitate Pet Partners workshops, and lead community engagement initiatives.

I’m passionate about raising awareness of the impact therapy animals can have. Whether through education on animal-assisted interventions, mentoring prospective teams, or organizing outreach events, I welcome opportunities to collaborate with organizations and individuals alike.

I’m also committed to growing our volunteer network to make evaluations more accessible and widely available.

Who is Pet Partners?

Pet Partners (formerly Delta Society), founded in 1977 and headquartered in Bellevue, WA, is the largest and most respected U.S. nonprofit specializing in animal‑assisted therapy, activities, and education. They operate a national program registering volunteer teams—human handlers and their therapy animals—for visits across diverse settings like hospitals, nursing homes, schools, courthouses, and workplaces.

What Do They Do?

  • Certify & Train
Provide standardized training, and evaluations for handlers and their animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, guinea pigs, birds, miniature pigs, rats, llamas, and alpacas) to form registered therapy-animal teams.

  • Facilitate Visits
These teams complete millions of volunteer visits annually—over 3 million visits by more than 13,000 teams—bringing comfort and wellness to patients in recovery, individuals with disabilities, seniors facing cognitive decline, veterans, students, and those nearing end-of-life.

  • Promote Public Awareness & Research
Back their work with research into the benefits of animal-assisted interventions, publish industry standards and position statements, and engage in advocacy to expand access to animal‑assisted therapy.

  • Support Volunteers
Offer resources, insurance coverage, a volunteer portal to find host facilities, and community support via local affiliate groups.
